ANMR

ANMR: FAQ

WHAT IS ANMR?

ANMR stands for Animal Neuro Myofascial Release. I use a chiropractic tool and look for a pathological reflex- this is where the muscles and nerves around the area twitch. Very much like when years ago a doctor would tap you knee and wait for it to fly forward.  This is a involuntary response that the body does when there is a trigger point or tight area. When the tool is used and the twitch has gone this is where the communication with the brain and the nervous system is reached and the body will re-align its self :) following this the animal  will get a much better range of motion. Bare in mind the reaction to the noice is not the reflex we are looking at .

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE VISIT?

We will start with hands on Myofascial release over the entire body. This part is relaxing, with the animal showing lots of releases, and is a lovely way to open up the receptors before the tool is used.

The tool I use is a chiropractic tool, however I am using this as soft tissue therapy NOT a chiropractic one. The tool does make a clicking noise and, although some may find it scary to start, most relax quickly and respond very well.  I will do this on the whole animal targeting the skeletal system where we will be releasing any miss alignment.

Ending the session with Laser Acupressure, targeting the points to close the receptors and tie everything together. The changes will be felt straight away and will continue to develop over the next few days.

There is no need for any rest period afterwards.

ARE THERE AREAS OF THE ANIMAL YOU CAN'T TREAT?

The only contraindications are that I cannot treat the animal over any breaks in the bones or tumours.
